i personally have a facebook account which i believe is more professional than myspace.Facebook in the other hand is less personal because you can't really personalize your page with wallpaper and themes like myspace.i use facebook to chat with friends and let them know what am i doing on specific time.i visited friendster and it is similar to facebook.i also have an account with hi5 but i did not upload my picture.This site is very popular with some of my friends back home.LinkedIn is a social networking site mainly used for professional networking. you can find jobs, also recruiters using this site to find perspective employees since you can upload your profile, resume, and recommendation letters.

What is New media

Citing webopedia,New media is a generic term for the many different forms of electronic communication that are made possible through the use of computer technology. The term is in relation to “old” media forms, such as print newspapers and magazines, that are static representations of text and graphics. New media includes web sites,streaming video and audio,chat rooms,email,virtual reality environment.

My Research Term Project

My term project aims to provide a broad overview of the research literature concerned with the impact of the new media on children and young people.it focuses primarily on the use of internet.Although there is some consideration of beneficial effect,my project concentrates on harmful effects.When it comes to negative effects,research has explored many different types of effects.For example,while some of these relate to specific areas of media content,others relate to media use in general;while some are short-term and direct,others are longer-term and/or indirect.
